Morgan Sindall, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Baker Hicks have all signed up for 10 year leases at Anchorage 2 in Salford Quays, which is currently undergoing a refurbishment programme.
The DWP has signed for another 10 years on the second, third, and fourth floors, which add up to 37,650 sq ft, while Baker Hicks is moving from the seventh to the fifth floor, increasing its space in the building to 12,400 sq ft in the process. The engineering and design company has been based at the office since 2011.
Morgan Sindall, which has its Manchester headquarters in the building, has also signed up for 12,400 sq ft on the sixth floor on a 10-year lease term.
Anchorage 2 is currently undergoing an £8m refurbishment which will see the atrium at the office fully reconfigured to offer improved amenity facilities. The eight and ninth floors have already been remodelled with more refurbishment due to complete in early 2019.
A second phase of works will see a renovation of the public realm around Anchorage 2 and the three other office buildings in the Anchorage complex.
Canmoor has been appointed to manage the building, and the company’s director Sam Walker said: “Lease re-signs from such prominent occupiers are a big vote of confidence for the works we are undertaking and our plans for the future at Anchorage.
