Work has begun on an £8m refurbishment of the 220,000 sq ft, four-building Anchorage complex in Salford Quays. Phase one will involve the atrium of Anchorage 2 being completely reconfigured, which will include new tenant amenities being introduced such as a food and beverage operator, informal breakout areas and co-working space.
The second phase will involve the public realm and external appearance of all four buildings being enhanced. The remaining vacant offices in Anchorage 1, 3 and 4 are being designed with exposed services.
Sam Walker, director at Canmoor, said: "With a Metrolink stop literally on its doorstep and all the office floors offering unrivalled views of the Quays, Media City and Manchester city centre, Anchorage is in a unique location that few other developments can compete with.
"The refurbishment will also ensure that we are meeting the needs of the modern office occupier by providing quality office accommodation, coupled with excellent tenant amenities and breakout space. We look forward to welcoming people to the transformed Anchorage in the new year”
